The Cyber Academy Showcases… Dell SecureWorks

The history, current thinking and vision of companies can provide inspiration for others to see how they have grasped opportunities and developed through the various phases of growth. Overall the Academy wants to showcase excellence, in both vision and economic development, and provide a platform to show how others can develop into new markets and how to develop a network of opportunity.

It also wants to showcase leadership and significant contributions of individuals to the local economy, especially which are showcased on an international stage. A key element of this is to highlight the contribution made by key individuals, and the strategic decisions they have made which have had long-term benefit to the organisation.

The companies showcased will have also provided significant impacts on the local economy, especially in benefiting a range of companies, along with supporting academia, the public sector and other civic partners.


The first company to be profiled is Dell SecureWorks, especially in the way that they have developed from a small company (dns) based on Princess Street, Edinburgh, to their current position as a leader in the global security market. Their continued growth and leadership in the field should act as an inspiration to others working in any area of business.

At the event the company will be awarded with a Certificate of Excellence from the academy, for its contribution to the local economy and to the international cyber security market. The event also provides a way for anyone who has been involved with the company to come together to share experiences, but overall show provide a strong sign post on how to develop a market leadership within the information economy.
